Abdur-Rasheed Abiodun Babalola is a transformational leader and financial inclusion advocate with more than two decades of experience in insurance, Islamic finance, and ethical investments. He has held executive and board-level roles in both public and private financial institutions, bringing deep expertise in risk management, product innovation, and regulatory compliance.
He is a Member of the National Institute (mni), conferred upon completion of the Senior Executive Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Nigeria’s foremost think tank for leadership and governance. Mr. Babalola currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at TrustArthur Limited, where he provides strategic oversight for non-interest financial advisory operations. In this capacity, he co-led the establishment of a World Bank-supported Islamic Finance Desk at the Development Bank of Nigeria, which facilitated over ₦6 billion in SME credit through Shariah-compliant financing structures.
He is also a Member of the Advisory Council of Experts (ACE) at Crown Takaful Limited, where he contributes to Shariah governance, product review, and ethical compliance. Previously, he served as Executive at Kord Capital Limited, where he designed and implemented NAICOM-approved micro-insurance products that enhanced economic inclusion for underserved communities. His earlier roles at Zenith Insurance, UNIC Insurance, and Sovereign Trust Insurance built his strong foundation in corporate management, underwriting, and product development.
Mr. Babalola holds a Master’s degree in Managerial Psychology and a B.Sc. in Insurance from the University of Lagos, and a Certificate in Takaful from the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance (IIBI), United Kingdom. He is an Associate Member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
He brings to the Arthur Capital Partners Board a wealth of experience in inclusive finance, Islamic financial structuring, and strategic governance, ensuring the company’s continued alignment with ethical and professional standards.
